Stanley Cup

Prize - $1,000,000

Montreal Barracudas

The Montreal Barracudas won the 2004-2005 Stanley Cup after they defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2 in game six of the finals. The Barracudas had a record of 16-8-0 in this years playoffs.

Presidents Trophy

Prize - $700,000

Trenton Titans

For the second year the Trenton Titans have captured the National Hockey Association's President's Trophy after they recorded 117 points during the regular season. The Titans had a record of 51-19-12-3. This award is given to the hockey club which finishes the regular season with the best overall record.

Prince of Wales Trophy

Prize - $600,000

Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers were awarded the Prince of Wales Trophy after defeating the Eagles and Rockhounds in the first two rounds of the playoffs before getting by the Trenton Titans in a seven game American Conference final. The Panthers went on to lose the Stanley Cup Championship to the Montreal Barracudas..

Clarence S. Campbell Trophy

Prize - $600,000

Montreal Barracudas

The Montreal Barracudas were awarded the Clarence S. Campbell Trophy after defeating the Wolf Pack and Hitmen in the first two rounds of the playoffs before getting by the St. Michael's Majors in a six game Canadian Conference final. The Barracudas then went on to win the Stanley Cup in six games by defeating the Florida Panthers.

Hart Memorial Trophy

Prize - $500,000

Marty Turco - Montreal Barracudas

Goaltender Marty Turco of the Montreal Barracudas has captured the Hart Memorial Trophy which is awarded "to the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team," as selected by the National Hockey Association General Managers.

Kiprusoff received thirteen of twenty-four votes while other nominees Ilya Kovalchuk received five votes, Keith Tkachuk five votes and Alex Tanguay one vote.

Turco led the league in goals-against-average (2.17) and was second to Curtis Joseph with a save percentage of (.921). Ranked second in shutouts (7) and was first in victories (48) in only sixty-two games played.

Art Ross Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Patrik Elias - Waterloo Wildcats

Patrik Elias has won the National Hockey Associations Art Ross Trophy which is awarded "to the player who leads the league in scoring at the end of the regular season".

Elias was tied with Keith Tkachuk of the Panthers in points with 106, but lead Tkachuk in goals which gives him the trophy. Elias was also ahead by one point of Rockhounds forward Alex Tanguay who recorded 105 points.

Maurice Richard Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Ilya Kovalchuk - St. Paul Knights

For the second consecutive year, Ilya Kovalchuk has been awarded the National Hockey Associations Maurice Richard Trophy which is given "to the player that leads the league in goals at the end of the regular season."

Kovalchuk scored fifty-three goals this season which is fourt more then Wildcats forward Patrik Elias. Kovalchuk also managed to score thirty-four more goals then his next closest teammate Mike Fisher (19) and accounted for twenty-three percent of all goals scored by the Knights.

Conn Smyth Trophy

Prize - $500,000

Scott Niedermayer - Montreal Barracudas

Defenseman Scott Nidermayer has been awarded the Conn Smyth trophy as the most valuable player in the playoffs. Niedermayer recorded ten goals and nine assists for nineteen points in twenty-four games. St. Louis also had a plus five rating and was on the ice for all key situations.

James Norris Memorial Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Zdeno Chara - Florida Panthers

Zdeno Chara has won the James Norris Trophy, awarded to the defenseman demonstrating "the greatest all-around ability in the position," as selected by the National Hockey Association General Managers.

Chara received twenty of twenty-six votes cast with other nominees Sergei Zubov getting two votes, Bryan McCabe two votes and Scott Niedermayer two votes.

Chara was tied with Scott Niedermayer with sixty-eight points (15 goals, 53 assists) . Chara also led the entire league with a plus/minus rating of +63 which is absolutely incredible..

Vezina Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Marty Turco - Montreal Barracudas

Marty Turco has won the Vezina trophy as the "goalkeeper adjudged to be the best at his position in the regular season" as selected by the National Hockey Association General Managers.

Turco received twenty-two of twenty-six votes to capture the award with other nominees Tomas Vokoun receiving four votes, David Aebischer zero votes and J.S. Giguere zero votes.

Turco led all netminders in goals-against-average (2.27) and was second to Curthis Josepth in save percentage (.911), ranked second in shutouts (7) and was first in victories (48) while playing in seventy-five.

Calder Memorial Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Alexander Ovechkin - Hartford Whalers

Alexander Ovechkin of the Hartford Whalers has won the Calder Memorial Trophy, awarded "to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the National Hockey Association."

Ovechkin fourteen of twenty-six votes to earn the trophy with other nominees Jarret Stoll receiving five votes, Evgeni Malkin four votes and Matthew Lombardi three votes..

Ovechkin lived up expectations with the Whalers in his first season by demonstrating strong offensive ability while not being a liability on the defensive side of the game . Ovechkin was selected first overall by the Whalers in the 2004 entry-draft. He recorded fifty-nine points (30 goals, 29 assists) during the regular season with only five minutes in penalties..

Frank J. Selke Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Radek Dvorak - Trenton Titans

Radek Dvorak of the Trenton Titans has been awarded the Frank J. Selke trophy in recognition of "the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game," as selected by the National Hockey Association General Managers.

Dvorak received ten of twenty-five votes to capture the award while other nominees Sergei Fedorovreceived seven votes, Keith Tkachuk six votes and Pavol Demitra two votes.

Dvorak played a strong checking role this season with the Titans helping to keep opposing team players off of the score sheet. Dvorak had better then average offensive number with sixty-five points (24 goals, 41 assists) in eighty-two games played. Dvorak also posted a team high +38 rating which earned him the award this year.

William M. Jennings Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Marty Turco/Chris Mason - Montreal Barracudas

Montreal Barracudas goaltenders Marty Turco and Chris Mason have been awarded the William M. Jennings trophy in recognition of "the goalkeeper(s) having played a minimum of twenty-five games for the team with the fewest goals scored against it".

Turco and Mason backstopped the Barracudas to a league low 201 goals against, edging out the Titans tandom of Dwayne Roloson and Curtis Joseph who allowed 203 goals against this season.

All Star MVP Award

Prize - $350,000

Alex Tanguay - Houston Rockhounds

Forward Alex Tanguay received the All-star MVP Award for being the top player during the 2005 All-star game. Tanguay was huge for the American Conference putting up six points in the game with three goals and three assists, while playing on a line with Joe Sakic and Brett Hull. Tanguay was a key factor for the American Conference who won the game 8-5

Memorial Cup

Prize - $300,000

Irving Pups - Bulldogs Farm Team

The Irving Pups have won the Memorial Cup for being the farm team to finish the regular season with the best overall record.

The Pups finished the season with 111 points with a record of 53-24-5. The Pups also recorded a 452 goals, second only to the Milwaukee Admirals who scored 594 goals.

Alexander E. Karpenko Memorial Award

Prize - $200,000

Jan Hlavac - Vancouver Canucks

Jan Hlavac has been awarded the Alexander E. Karpenko Memorial Award for being "the player who leads the Farm system in points at the end of the regular season".

Hlavac recorded one-hundred and four points (38 goals, 66 assists) in eighty-two games and edged out teammate Alexander Perezhogin (Canucks) and Hugh Jessiman (Gladiators) for the award.
