Stanley Cup

Prize - $1,000,000

Dallas Bulldogs

The Dallas Bulldogs won the 2006 Stanley Cup after defeating the Calgary Hitmen by a score of 5-4 in the final game of the series. The Bulldogs easily defeated the Hitmen four games to one in the Finals and also had a record of 16-5-0 in the playoffs.

Presidents Trophy

Prize - $700,000

Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks won the Presidents Trophy this season after finishing the season with a league high 119 points. The Canucks had an overall record of 55-21-6-3. This award is given to the hockey club which finishes the regular season with the best overall record.

Prince of Wales Trophy

Prize - $600,000

Dallas Bulldogs

The Dallas Bulldogs were awarded the Prince of Wales Trophy after defeating they managed to defeat the Outlaws and Eagles in the first two rounds of the playoffs before getting by the Trenton Titans in a six game American Conference final. The Bulldogs then went on to win the Stanley Cup Championship.

Clarence S. Campbell Trophy

Prize - $600,000

Calgary Hitmen

The Calgary Hitmen were awarded the Clarence S. Campbell Trophy after they defeated the Wildcats and Wolf Pack in the first two rounds of the playoffs before getting by the Cancuks in a six game Canadian Conference final. The Hitmen then went on to lose the Stanley Cup Championship in a five game series against the Dallas Bulldogs..

Hart Memorial Trophy

Prize - $500,000

Alex Tanguay - Houston Rockhounds

Forward Alex Tanguay has captured the Hart Memorial Trophy which is awarded "to the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team," as selected by the National Hockey Association General Managers.

Tanguay received fifteen of twenty-three votes while other nominees Vincent Lecavalier received four votes, Jarome Iginla three votes and Ed Belfour one vote.

Tanguay led the 2005-2006 season with one-hundred and fifteen points (33 goals, 82 assists) in eighty-two games played. Tanguay scored an average of one assist per game while helping to guide the Houston Rockhounds to their third straight playoff appearance.

Art Ross Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Alex Tanguay - Houston Rockhounds

Alex Tanguay has won the National Hockey Associations Art Ross Trophy which is awarded "to the player who leads the league in scoring at the end of the regular season".

Tanguay led the league with one-hundred and fifteen points (33 goals, 82 assists) with a plus twenty-one rating. Tanguay was seven points ahead of Vincent Lecavalier and twelve points ahead of Eagles forward Marian Hossa.

Maurice Richard Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Vincent Lecavalier - Toronto Gladiators

Forward Vincent Lecavalier has been awarded the Maurice Richard Trophy which is given "to the player that leads the league in goals at the end of the regular season."

Lecavalier scored fifty-three goals this season in seventy-five games played which is six more then Eagles forward Marian Hossa. Lecavalier also managed to score thirty-four more goals then his next closest teammate Craig Adams (19) and accounted for twenty-four percent of all goals scored by the Gladiators.

Conn Smyth Trophy

Prize - $500,000

Bill Guerin - Dallas Bulldogs

Veteran forward Bill Guerin was awarded the Conn Smyth trophy as the most valuable player in the playoffs. Guerin recorded fourteen goals and twelve assists for twenty-six points in twenty-one games played.. Guerin also had a plus sixteen rating and was extremely valuable with this experience and leadership.

James Norris Memorial Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Scott Niedermayer - Montreal Barracudas

Scott Niedermayer has won the James Norris Trophy, awarded to the defenseman demonstrating "the greatest all-around ability in the position," as selected by the National Hockey Association General Managers.

Niedermayer received eighteen of twenty-three votes cast with other nominees Marek Zidlicky receiving five votes, Sergei Gonchar zero votes and Segei Zubov zero votes.

Niedermayer had an incredible seventy-nine points (21 goals, 58 assists) in eighty-two games played. Niedermayer also led all defensemen with a plus/minus rating of plus forty-one.

Vezina Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Marty Turco - Montreal Barracudas

Marty Turco has won the Vezina trophy as the "goalkeeper adjudged to be the best at his position in the regular season" as selected by the National Hockey Association General Managers.

Turco received ten of twenty-two votes to capture the award with other nominees Andrew Raycroft receiving five votes, Tomas Vokoun four votes and Ed Belfour three votes.

Turco led all netminders in goals-against-average (2.49) and was tied with Patrick Lalime in save percentage (.905), ranked first in shutouts (8) and was second in victories (47) while playing in seventy-three games.

Calder Memorial Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Duncan Keith - Chicago Purple Aces

Duncan Keith of the Chicago Purple Aces has won the Calder Memorial Trophy, awarded "to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the National Hockey Association."

Keith received thirteen of twenty-two votes to earn the trophy with other nominees Sidney Crosby receiving four votes, , Alexandre Picard three votes and Valtteri Filppula two votes..

In his first season with the Purple Aces, Keith was the leading scorer amongst Purple Aces defensemen with thirty-six points (7 goals, 29 assists) while also being third on the club with one-hundred and thirty-two hits.

Frank J. Selke Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Steve Sullivan - North Carolina Eagles

Steve Sullivan of the North Carolina Eagles has been awarded the Frank J. Selke trophy in recognition of "the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game," as selected by the National Hockey Association General Managers.

Sullivan received ten of twenty-one votes to capture the award while other nominees Paul Kariya received nine votes, Saku Koivu two votes and Olli Jokinen zero votes.

Sullivan was arguably the best player for the Eagles this season, as he was always a dangerous threat to score but also one of the top defensive players for the Eagles. Chances were that when Sullivan was on the ice the other team was not going to score. Sullivan managed to score ninety points this season (36 goals, 54 assists) with a plus forty-one rating.

William M. Jennings Trophy

Prize - $400,000

Marty Turco - Montreal Barracudas

Montreal Barracudas goaltender Marty Turco has been awarded the William M. Jennings trophy in recognition of "the goalkeeper(s) having played a minimum of twenty-five games for the team with the fewest goals scored against it".

Turco backstopped the Barracudas to a league low 219 goals against, edging out the Rockhounds tandom of Martin Biron and Mika Noronen who allowed 220 goals against this season.

All Star MVP Award

Prize - $350,000

Adrian Aucoin - Baltimore Bandits

Defensman Adrian Aucion received the All-star MVP Award for being the top player during the 2006 All-star game. Aucoin played a very strong game for the American Conference putting up four points with two goals and two assists with twenty-seven minutes of ice-time. Although the Canadian Conference prevailed by a score of 7-6, Aucion led all players in both points and time played.

Memorial Cup

Prize - $300,000

Windsor Centurions - Gladiators minor league affiliate

The Windsor Centurions have won the Memorial Cup for being the farm team to finish the regular season with the best overall record.

The Centurions finished the season with one-hundred and twenty-six points with a record of 60-16-6. The Centuions also scored a record five-hundred and eighty goals while allowing only two-hundred and twelve goals against.

Alexander E. Karpenko Memorial Award

Prize - $200,000

Rene Bourque - Irving Pups

Rene Bourque has been awarded the Alexander E. Karpenko Memorial Award for being "the player who leads the Farm system in points at the end of the regular season".

Bourque recorded ninety-nine points (47 goals, 52 assists) in eighty-two games. Bourque was tied with Windsor Centurions forward Jeff Carter in points, but scored ten more goals giving him the edge for the award.
